Composer/Artist: Karl Hyde, Rick Smith and Darren Emerson. Underworld are a British electronic group formed in 1987 in Cardiff. After a split with former members of the band, founding members Hyde and Smith met DJ Darren Emerson in 1991 and went on as a trio to produce the techno/rock records they are known for today.

Dynamics/Articulation: Mid-range volume intro as a dreamlike, heavenly three chord synth progression is played. The vocals take forefront when introduced 13 seconds. Then At 1.15 the 4/4 beat explodes lifting the volume and the energy to an almost ridiculous level. The beat becomes most pronounced especially the Kick drum.

Overview of Style: Techno is a form of electronic dance music that became popular in Detroit, Michigan during the mid-1980s. It was influenced by synthpop, house music, funk and post-disco. Juan Atkins is generally thought to be the founder of Techno music. Stylistically, techno is generally repetitive instrumental music, oftentimes produced for use in a continuous DJ set.
